Additive manufacturing in the Medical market


We specialise in medical engineering, creating custom medical implants and prosthetics using highly biocompatible titanium alloys. METRON is in the process of achieving the ISO 13485:2016 standard for the Additive Manufacturing production of medical devices.

METRON’s Arcam Q10 machine is specifically designed for the manufacture of medical implants. The machine exclusively uses Ti6Al4V Grade 5 and Grade 23 alloy.

Titanium alloys make for an excellent candidate in the production of medical implants. Ti6Al4V is highly biocompatible, saving on expensive coatings; and by utilising mesh structures to promote bone in-growth, we can create customised implants with great success. METRON is in the process of achieving the ISO 13485:2016 standard for the Additive Manufacturing production of medical devices.
